The Egyptian politician and former head of the Bar Association, Samih Ashour, expressed to “Al-Wasat Gate” his astonishment at the swift response of the International Criminal Court (ICC) to the request for the arrest of Russian President Vladimir Putin in connection with the Russia-Ukraine war, compared to the procrastination in addressing the genocide crimes committed against the Palestinian people in full view of the world. He stated, “The ICC’s credibility nearly collapsed before issuing these warrants against Netanyahu and Galant.”
Samih Ashour described the ICC’s accusations against Sinwar as “throwing dust in the eyes and equating the victim with the executioner,” explaining that “what Hamas did on October 7 cannot be compared to the scale of crimes committed by the Zionist occupation since 1948,” and pointing to the need for “an impartial court for the leaders of the occupation and the crimes they committed against the legitimate Palestinian resistance.”
